English Essay 28

“As a writer of an autobiography about life in the woods, would you spend more pages describing an ant war or loons? Why?”

If I were to write an autobiography I would not write about either, but if I had to write about one I would choose a loon. I could describe a time in my life where I was a loon, or someone else was. I would try to incorporate in my autobiography where loons were a part of my life, and maybe try to give some advise in a way that makes sense to the reader. In a way that would not make it seem like my autobiography had become a life advise book. Here is an example.

Once when I was around six years old and I wanted a piece of candy, but my mom had hid the candy from me and my siblings. I had seen where she hid it and I climbed onto the counter and grabbed a piece, I ended up getting caught and was not allowed to get any after supper. I in that situation was a loon and would not advise disobeying your mom.

How would I invest $2000?

If I got $2000 per year I would split it up between an emergency fund, bonds, stocks, and gold or other precious metals. I would immediately put $500 in emergency funds, with the other $1500 I would put 15% in gold or other precious metals. Stocks would make 55%, and bonds would make the other 30%. Then I need to decide on a good investment stocks are used to expand your portfolio, while bonds are usually less risky. I would not use dollar cost averaging technique, so I can minimize the risk of investing it at all. I would also make sure to split up my stocks and bonds, so if one company goes under than I still have some other plan.

My Top 5 Investing Thoughts I’d Pass On to a Younger Person.

  1. Look into the company and see how they are doing, and be open to other options.
  2. Don’t spend all your money in one place, because if the company goes out of business then you lose all your money.
  3. Look at several possibilities, ask yourself some questions like. What will happen if the company goes out of business? What will happen if the the company does really well?
  4. Ask for help, it is okay to ask someone (preferably older than you) for help if you don’t know what to do, but be prepared to answer some questions.
  5. Make long term decisions, this will ensure that you don’t just get one paycheck, it will give you a higher chance of getting several throughout the years.

“What would be the most difficult technique in this book so far for you to learn how to do well? Why?”

I think that the hardest technique in this book is the strategy where I have to make the other person think that my idea is their idea. Not because I necessarily want the credit, I just don’t know how to go about it.

Another technique I have a difficult time doing, is persuading the other person. I like to make a good impression on everyone I meet, and I start to feel guilty if I try to persuade others because I feel like I am taking advantage of them.

Conclusion: I don’t know how to make people think my idea is their’s. I don’t like persuading people.

English Essay 27

“How important is it for a person to summarize his philosophy of life in an early chapter of an autobiography?” I think that it is important, because the philosophy of your life explains who you where and what habits you are going to have in your later years. Habits from an early age mean that you are most likely going to do the habits when you are older.

English Essay 26

“Would Walden have been a better book if Thoreau had supplied more background information on his life?” I think it would have made the autobiography better if he had added some information on his education, his life before his family was at Walden Pond. This book isn’t really “my cup of tea.”

Personal Finance Essay 26

How have my life life plans have changed in the past 6 months? I think that the thing that has changed the most was what I was going to major in. I thought that I was going to major in singing, but then one day I felt like that wasn’t what I was supposed to do. I prayed about it and then on a Monday I was doing my school and I was looking at major’s and a thought popped in my head and it said “Military Nurse.” I looked up what I had to do to become a military nurse. I went to my homeschool co-op and I prayed some more and that is what I think I am supposed to do.

This course has changed my thinking, and I am not spending as much money as I used to.

If you choose to go to college, what would be your “short list” of majors you”d consider? I am going to major in nursing, and then become a military nurse. I love helping people and being a nurse is a way that I think that I can help other’s.

Another major I think would be a good fit for me would be drawing. I think that I am an okay drawer, and could be good enough to be in a drawing major. From a drawing major I think that I could be a drawing teacher.

Business 1 Essay 13

“How important is trust in establishing long-term business relationship?” Trust is the key to any relationship, including a business relationship. If your business partner(s) don’t trust you then they might leave the company. If you have a friend and they don’t trust you then they won’t feel safe to tell you about their life. It’s the same in business. If they don’t trust you to follow through to fix the problem that you said you would, then they would not have come to your company.

I do have a solution for this problem it is simple to comprehend, and not exactly easy to do but it helps.

Live an Honest and Open Life. This should seem like it would be a basic fact, but it’s not. Now there are private things that should be kept between certain friends and in the family. This also means that you are the same person everywhere you go.

Put the Goals and Interests of Other’s Above your Own. This is hard to do, it really is but when you stop and think about it then you realize that everyone is superior to you in some way. Carnegie said it himself in the book, everyone is superior to you in some way. So treat everyone like it.

English Essay 25

“Was Thoreau dependent on the division of labor while he was living on Walden Pond?” Yes he was, even though he hated the division of labor he was dependent on it. He did not make his own tools, grow his own seeds, have his own land. Everything that he owned had been manufactured by someone else, or grown by someone else.
